Galaxy A42 has a general score of 87, which is much better than the OnePlus 8 Pro's 77.2 score. Even though the Galaxy A42 and OnePlus 8 Pro were only released with a couple months difference, the Galaxy A42 construction is just a little bit thicker but a bit lighter than OnePlus 8 Pro. OnePlus 8 Pro has an incredibly better looking screen than Galaxy A42, because it has a lot better resolution of 1440 x 3168, a way higher screen pixel density and a bit bigger screen.
OnePlus 8 Pro has a bit faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy A42, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the OnePlus 8 Pro also has 4 GB more RAM memory. The Galaxy A42 has a much better storage for games and applications than OnePlus 8 Pro, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Galaxy A42 also has a SD card slot that allows a maximum of 1000 GB.
OnePlus 8 Pro has a little bit better camera than Galaxy A42, and although they both have the same video resolution, a 48 mega pixels back-facing camera and a F1.8 diafragm aperture, the OnePlus 8 Pro also has better video frame rate. Galaxy A42 counts with a bit superior battery lifetime than OnePlus 8 Pro, because it has a 5000mAh battery size.
