Galaxy A42 has a score of 87, which is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G's overall score of 84.6. Both phones in this review have the same Android 11 OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't see any differences regarding that. Although the Galaxy A42 and the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G were released only a couple of months apart, the Galaxy A42 is just a bit thinner and a bit lighter.
Samsung Galaxy A22 5G's processing unit is just as good as the Galaxy A42 one, they have the same number of cores and 4 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G has a brighter screen than Galaxy A42, and although they both have a same size screen, the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G also has a higher screen pixels density and a way higher resolution of 1080 x 2400.
Samsung Galaxy A42 features a bigger memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy A22 5G, because although it has an external SD slot that allows a maximum of 1000 GB against 1 TB, it also counts with more internal memory capacity. Galaxy A22 5G's battery lifetime is just as good as Galaxy A42's battery lifetime.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 counts with a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy A22 5G, and although they both have a same resolution camera and a F1.8 aperture, the Samsung Galaxy A42 also has a way better (4K) video definition.
