Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy A42 is slightly better than the Galaxy A51, with a general score of 87 against 85.5. The Samsung Galaxy A42 design is newer, but somewhat heavier and a bit thicker than the Galaxy A51. Both of these phones use the same Android 11 operating system, so you shouldn't notice any differences regarding OS features.
The Galaxy A51 features a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy A42. Both have a 4 GB RAM and a Octa-Core processor. Galaxy A51 has a brighter display than Galaxy A42, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a much greater pixels number per display inch and a way higher resolution of 1080 x 2400.
Galaxy A51 shoots a bit better photographs and videos than Galaxy A42, although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for low light images, they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate, the same video quality and a camera with a 48 megapixels resolution. The Galaxy A42 has just a bit more storage capacity to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy A51, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Galaxy A42 also has an external memory slot that admits up to 1000 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 has better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy A51, because it has a 25% larger battery capacity.
