Comparison review
Galaxy A42 is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy M40, getting an 87 score against 85. Galaxy A42's construction is newer, but heavier and just a little bit thicker than the Samsung Galaxy M40. These phones come with Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy A42 has a more recent 11 version and Samsung Galaxy M40 has Android 10 version.
Galaxy M40's CPU is very similar to Galaxy A42's processing unit, and although the Galaxy M40 has more RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.
