Galaxy A42 is much better than the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, getting a overall score of 87 against 78.1. Both devices in this review include Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy A42 has the previous 11 version and Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has Android 4.4.2 version. Although the Galaxy A42 is extremely newer than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, it's a little thicker and notably heavier.
Galaxy S5 Plus features a much more vibrant display than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has a way smaller screen, it also counts with a much greater display density and a higher 1920 x 1080 resolution. The Samsung Galaxy A42 has a superior memory capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 1000 GB and 112 GB more internal memory.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus counts with a bit better performance than Galaxy A42, because although it has an inferior number of cores and a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with an extra graphics co-processor. Galaxy A42 shoots much better pictures and videos than Galaxy S5 Plus, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy A42 also has a bigger aperture to take better photos and video in poorly lited environments and a camera in the back with way more megapixels.
