The Samsung Galaxy A42 is much better than the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, with a score of 87 against 78.1. The Samsung Galaxy A42 is a noticeably newer phone than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, although it is heavier and somewhat thicker. Both devices in this review include Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy A42 has older 11 version while Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Galaxy A42 has a little faster processing unit than Galaxy S7 edge, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM memory, the Galaxy A42 also has 4 more 2.2 gigahertz processing cores. The Galaxy S7 edge features a brighter display than Galaxy A42, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a lot higher pixels number per screen inch and a way higher resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
The Galaxy A42 takes better pictures and videos than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a tinier camera aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Galaxy A42 also counts with a lot higher 48 MP resolution camera in the back.
