The Galaxy A42 has an overall score of 87, which is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy S8's overall score of 81.7. Even though the Galaxy A42 is notably newer than the Samsung Galaxy S8, it's just a bit thicker and somewhat heavier. Galaxy S8 features a much sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a much greater screen density and a much higher resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels.
Galaxy A42 counts with a lot bigger storage capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy S8, because it has an external memory card slot that admits up to 1000 GB and more internal memory. The Samsung Galaxy S8 has just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy A42. They have the same number of cores and the same RAM memory amount.
Galaxy A42 features a very superior battery life than Samsung Galaxy S8, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity against 3000mAh. The Galaxy A42 takes much better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy S8, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not good for low-light photos and videos, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same video resolution, the Galaxy A42 also counts with a camera in the back with way more mega-pixels.
