Galaxy A42 has an overall score of 87, which is just a bit better than Sony Xperia 1 V's 82.7 score. Both devices in our current comparison use Android operating system, but Galaxy A42 has the older 11 version and Sony Xperia 1 V has Android 13. Despite being the best cellphone in this review, Galaxy A42's body is much older, a little heavier and a little thicker than Sony Xperia 1 V.
The Xperia 1 V counts with a sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a lot better screen pixels density and a way higher 1644 x 3840 resolution. Galaxy A42 counts with a much powerful CPU than Xperia 1 V, although it has 8 GB lesser RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core CPU.
The Xperia 1 V counts with a superior camera than Galaxy A42, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not favorable for taking pictures and videos in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same resolution back facing camera and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Xperia 1 V also counts with faster 120 frames per second video frame rate.
The Galaxy A42 features a bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia 1 V, because although it has only 128 GB internal storage, it also counts with a SD card slot that allows a maximum of 1000 GB. Galaxy A42 and Xperia 1 V have incredibly similar battery durations.
