Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy A42 is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi 8, with a score of 87 against 83.3. The Samsung Galaxy A42 design is notably newer than the Xiaomi Mi 8's, but it is somewhat thicker and a bit heavier. Both of these phones include Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy A42 has a newer 11 version and Xiaomi Mi 8 has Android 10, so it offers a couple nice extra features and enhanced performance.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 has a better looking display than Galaxy A42, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a lot greater count of pixels per inch of screen and a lot higher resolution of 1080 x 2248px. The Galaxy A42 has more storage capacity to install applications and games than Xiaomi Mi 8, because although it has less internal memory, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that supports up to 1000 GB.
Xiaomi Mi 8 features a bit faster processor than Samsung Galaxy A42, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also has a higher amount of RAM. Galaxy A42 captures much better videos and photos than Xiaomi Mi 8, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the same aperture and the same video frame rate, the Galaxy A42 also has a back-facing camera with much more mega-pixels.
The Galaxy A42 has a superior battery duration than Xiaomi Mi 8, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity instead of 3400mAh.
