Samsung Galaxy A42 has an overall score of 87, which is better than Xiaomi Mi Max 2's 77.5 overall score. The Samsung Galaxy A42 construction is newer and a bit lighter, but also somewhat thicker than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Galaxy A42 has a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Both of them have a 4 GB RAM memory and 8 CPU cores.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a little more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better resolution of 1080 x 1920px and more pixels per inch in the screen. The Galaxy A42 counts with a much better storage for applications and games than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Galaxy A42 also has an external SD slot that admits a maximum of 1000 GB.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a little better battery life than Galaxy A42, because it has 5300mAh of battery capacity against 5000mAh. Galaxy A42 has a much better camera than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Galaxy A42 also has a bigger aperture to take better images in low-light situations and a lot higher resolution back camera.
