The Google Nexus 5 is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy A5, getting a score of 76 against 72.4. Even being the best in this comparison, the Google Nexus 5 is an older, incredibly thicker and a little heavier device than Samsung Galaxy A5. Both phones in this comparison come with Android OS (Operating System), but Google Nexus 5 has older 4.4.3 version while Samsung Galaxy A5 has Android 4.4.4.

The Google Nexus 5 has a little better processing power than Samsung Galaxy A5, although it has a 32-bit CPU instead of 64-bits, they both have 2 GB of RAM memory, 4 CPU cores and a 450 MHz graphics processing unit. The Google Nexus 5 counts with a little bit better looking display than Samsung Galaxy A5, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Google Nexus 5 also has a lot higher 1920 x 1080 resolution and a better count of pixels per display inch.

Samsung Galaxy A5 counts with a bit bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Google Nexus 5, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with a SD card slot that allows a maximum of 64 GB. The Google Nexus 5 has a battery life that is very similar to Galaxy A5's battery life.

Although Google Nexus 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy A5, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy A5. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Google Nexus 5, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy A5, giving up a couple features and specs.
