Sony Xperia XZ1 has a general score of 78.3, which is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy A5's score of 72.4. The Sony Xperia XZ1 design is extremely newer than the Samsung Galaxy A5's, but it's extremely heavier and somewhat thicker. Xperia XZ1 features a bit better hardware performance than Galaxy A5, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processor and a 32-bit processor instead of 64-bits, it also counts with a higher number of faster cores and a higher amount of RAM memory.
Galaxy A5 has a little sharper display than Sony Xperia XZ1, although it has a lot lower pixel quantity per display inch, a much lower 1280 x 720 resolution and a bit smaller screen. Xperia XZ1 features a much better storage capacity for apps and games than Galaxy A5, because it has 48 GB more internal storage capacity and an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB.
Xperia XZ1 features just a little bit longer battery performance than Samsung Galaxy A5, because it has a 2700mAh battery capacity instead of 2300mAh. Sony Xperia XZ1 counts with a very superior camera than Galaxy A5, because it has a way better 19 mega-pixels resolution camera and a way better video resolution.
Although Sony Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy A5, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy A5. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Sony Xperia XZ1, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy A5, letting go a couple specifications.
