The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) has a general score of 79.2, which is a bit better than Xperia XZ2 Compact's 79 score. Although the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Xperia XZ2 Compact were released only 3 months apart, Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018)'s body is a little heavier but much thinner than Xperia XZ2 Compact.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact has a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018). They have a Octa-Core processor and the same RAM amount. The Xperia XZ2 Compact has a bit better screen than Galaxy A8 (2018), because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a bit greater amount of pixels per inch of screen.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact features slightly more memory for applications and games than Galaxy A8 (2018), and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Xperia XZ2 Compact also has a SD memory slot that holds up to 400 GB. Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) features just a bit longer battery duration than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity instead of 2870mAh.
Xperia XZ2 Compact captures better photographs and videos than Galaxy A8 (2018), because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not nice for taking photographs and video in low-light environments, it also counts with a way higher 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and a more mega pixels camera in the back.
