The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro has an overall score of 84.2, which is a bit better than Galaxy A8 Star's 82.1 general score. Although the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro is newer than the Galaxy A8 Star, it is somewhat heavier and somewhat thicker. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro has the older 14 version and Galaxy A8 Star has Android 9.0 Pie.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro features a much better screen than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a little bit inferior pixel amount in each display inch, it also counts with a little bigger display and a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro has a superior storage capacity for apps and games than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage.
The Galaxy A8 Star features a much powerful CPU than Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, although it has a lower amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores. Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro features a very superior camera than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not recommended for taking images and/or video in low-light situations, it also counts with a much bigger sensor taking lot higher quality videos and pictures, a back facing camera with much more mega pixels and a much higher 7680x4320 video quality.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro counts with a much better battery performance than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 49 percent bigger battery capacity.
