Galaxy A9 (2018) has a general score of 85.2, which is slightly better than the Huawei Nova 9's general score of 81. The Galaxy A9 (2018) is a a bit heavier phone than the Huawei Nova 9, but both have the same thickness. Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) and Huawei Nova 9 both have incredibly similar displays, because although the Huawei Nova 9 has a little less pixels per inch in the display, it also counts with a little higher 1080 x 2340 resolution and a little larger screen.
The Huawei Nova 9 features just a bit better performance than Galaxy A9 (2018), and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Huawei Nova 9 also has 2 GB more RAM memory. The Huawei Nova 9 takes just a bit better pictures and videos than Galaxy A9 (2018), because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not so good for capturing photographs or videos in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Huawei Nova 9 also counts with a lot more mega pixels back camera.

Huawei Nova 9 counts with a bit superior battery performance than Galaxy A9 (2018), because it has a 13 percent larger battery size.
