Galaxy A9 (2018) is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, getting an 85.2 score against 77.7. Despite being the best phone in this comparison review, Galaxy A9 (2018) is a a little heavier and just a little thicker phone than the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite features a slightly better screen than Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), and although they both have a same size screen, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite also has a little higher resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and a just a bit greater number of pixels in each inch in the display.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and Galaxy A9 (2018) have similar processors, both of them have 6 GB of RAM memory and a Octa-Core processor. Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) counts with a much bigger storage capacity to install games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) also has an external memory slot that supports up to 512 GB.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) counts with a little longer battery life than Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, because it has a 13% greater battery capacity. The Galaxy A9 (2018) has a slightly better camera than Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, because although it has a smaller back camera sensor capturing less light and duller colors, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same (4K) video definition, the Galaxy A9 (2018) also counts with a camera with much more MP and a bigger camera aperture to take better low light photography.
