Samsung Galaxy Note 5 counts with a much sharper display than Galaxy J5 (2017), because it has a way greater number of pixels per display inch, a way higher resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a little bit larger screen.
Galaxy J5 (2017) features a bit more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because although it has lesser RAM memory, it also counts with a greater number of cores (although slower).
