The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has a global score of 79.3, which is much better than the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017)'s 71.8 general score. Even though the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is older and just a bit heavier than Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017), it's design is still a little bit thinner. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 counts with a much sharper display than Galaxy J5 (2017), because it has a way greater number of pixels per display inch, a way higher resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a little bit larger screen.

Galaxy J5 (2017) features a bit more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because although it has lesser RAM memory, it also counts with a greater number of cores (although slower). The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 captures better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017), because although it has a smaller aperture which is not so good for capturing photographs in poorly lited situations, it also counts with a camera in the back with more mega pixels and a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution.

The Galaxy Note 5 features a little bit more memory capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017), because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 48 GB more internal storage capacity. Galaxy Note 5's battery duration is just as good as Galaxy J5 (2017)'s battery duration.
