Galaxy J7 Max has a general score of 76.1, which is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's 75.8 overall score. Both phones in this review work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy J7 Max has an older 7.0 Nougat version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo version. The Galaxy J7 Max body has the same thickness than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, but it's a little lighter.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Max features a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, although it has 2 GB less RAM memory, they both have 8 processing cores. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Max and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro both feature similar screens, although the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro also has a quite larger display, a bit greater pixel density and a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2160.
The Galaxy J7 Max shoots clearer photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and although they both have the same video quality and the same video frame rates, the Galaxy J7 Max also has a better resolution camera in the back and a lot bigger diafragm aperture. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features longer battery performance than Galaxy J7 Max, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
