Xperia Z5 Premium has a general score of 79.8, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy J7 Star's general score of 73.1. The Xperia Z5 Premium design is just a little bit lighter and a bit thinner than the Galaxy J7 Star, even though it was released 3 years before. These phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Xperia Z5 Premium has 5.1 version while Galaxy J7 Star has Android 9.0 Pie.
The Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a bit more powerful processor than Galaxy J7 Star, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Xperia Z5 Premium also has a graphics processing unit and more RAM. Xperia Z5 Premium has a much sharper display than Galaxy J7 Star, and although they both have a same size screen, the Xperia Z5 Premium also has a much higher number of pixels per inch in the screen and a much better 3840 x 2160 resolution.

The Galaxy J7 Star counts with a quite bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia Z5 Premium, and although they both have the same internal memory capacity, the Galaxy J7 Star also has a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 400 GB. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a little better battery performance than Galaxy J7 Star, because it has a 4 percent larger battery size.
Although Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy J7 Star, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy J7 Star. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Xperia Z5 Premium, else you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy J7 Star, giving up some features and specs.
