Galaxy M31 has an overall score of 86.5, which is much better than the Sony Xperia XZ1's global score of 78.3. The Galaxy M31 body is way newer than Sony Xperia XZ1's, but it's somewhat heavier and somewhat thicker. Xperia XZ1's processing unit is very similar to Samsung Galaxy M31's CPU, and although the Xperia XZ1 has a smaller amount of RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core CPU.
The Samsung Galaxy M31 features a little more vivid display than Xperia XZ1, because although it has a little bit lower screen pixels density, it also counts with a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2340px and a larger screen. The Galaxy M31 features a better camera than Sony Xperia XZ1, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Galaxy M31 also has a larger camera aperture to capture better low light photography, a back-facing camera with a lot higher resolution and a much larger back-facing camera sensor providing a way better image quality.
Xperia XZ1 features a way bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Galaxy M31, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage, the Xperia XZ1 also has a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 1,95 TB. Galaxy M31 has a really longer battery performance than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 122% more battery capacity.
