Comparison review
Galaxy M40 is slightly better than the Microsoft Surface Duo, having a score of 85 against 78.8. The Galaxy M40 design is extremely lighter than the Microsoft Surface Duo, but it is notably thicker and was released only 15 months before. Both of these devices come with the same Android 10 OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't see any differences regarding that.
The Microsoft Surface Duo features a bit faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy M40. They have the same RAM amount and 8 cpu cores. The Microsoft Surface Duo counts with a bit sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a quite worse screen pixels density, it also counts with a better resolution of 1800 x 2700 pixels and a bigger display.
Samsung Galaxy M40 has a much greater storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Microsoft Surface Duo, and although they both have the same internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy M40 also has an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 512 GB. The Microsoft Surface Duo features a bit superior battery performance than Galaxy M40, because it has a 2% bigger battery size.
Galaxy M40 takes much better videos and photos than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has lower 30 fps video frame rate, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy M40 also counts with a back facing camera with a lot better resolution and a larger aperture to take better photography in low-light situations.
