The Samsung Galaxy M40 is a bit better than Moto Z2 Play, with an 85 score against 77.4. The Samsung Galaxy M40 design is newer, but heavier and noticeably thicker than the Moto Z2 Play. Galaxy M40 has a little sharper display than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because it has a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2340, a bit bigger screen and a just a bit better display pixel density.
The Moto Z2 Play counts with a CPU that is just as good as the Galaxy M40 one, and although the Moto Z2 Play has a lower amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processor. Galaxy M40 captures better photographs and videos than Moto Z2 Play, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and a F1.7 camera aperture, the Galaxy M40 also has a way more mega pixels back-facing camera.
Moto Z2 Play features slightly more memory capacity to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has less internal memory, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB. Samsung Galaxy M40 has a bit superior battery performance than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a 17% larger battery size.
