The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a general score of 94.6, which is better than the Galaxy M40's 85 global score. Galaxy Z Fold 2's construction is newer and thinner, but also noticeably heavier than the Galaxy M40. These phones work with Android operating system, but the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has the newer 11 version while Galaxy M40 has Android 10, providing you a lot of extra features and performance improvements.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a display that's just as good as Galaxy M40's screen, because although the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a bit worse pixels density, it also counts with a larger display and a better 1768 x 2208px resolution. Galaxy M40 counts with a bit bigger memory capacity for apps and games than Galaxy Z Fold 2, because although it has only 128 GB internal memory, it also counts with a SD extension slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB.
