The Galaxy M40 is much better than the TCL 20 Pro 5G, getting an 85 score against 76.1. The Galaxy M40 is an older cellphone than TCL 20 Pro 5G, but Samsung was able to make it thinner and somewhat lighter anyway. These phones work with Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy M40 has an older 10 version while TCL 20 Pro 5G has Android 11.
The Galaxy M40 has a slightly better looking screen than TCL 20 Pro 5G, because although it has a quite lower 1080 x 2340 resolution and a little smaller display, it also counts with a bit more pixels per screen inch. TCL 20 Pro 5G's processing unit is very similar to the Samsung Galaxy M40 one, they have a 6 GB RAM and the same number of cores.
TCL 20 Pro 5G has a way bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy M40, because it has 256 GB internal memory capacity and a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 1 TB. TCL 20 Pro 5G shoots a little bit better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the TCL 20 Pro 5G also counts with a back camera with lot more megapixels and a lot bigger camera sensor which provides a way higher image and video quality.
The TCL 20 Pro 5G has superior battery life than Samsung Galaxy M40, because it has a 29% more battery capacity.
