Both phones in this review have Android OS, but Galaxy S4 has an older 4.4 version and Galaxy J7 Max has Android 7.0 Nougat. Although the Galaxy S4 is much older than the Galaxy J7 Max, it's construction is much lighter and just a little bit thinner.
The Galaxy S4 has a sharper screen than Galaxy J7 Max, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, the Galaxy S4 also counts with a little bit more pixels per screen inch. Galaxy S4 counts with just a bit bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy J7 Max, because although it has an external memory card slot that supports 192 GB smaller, it also counts with 32 GB more internal storage.
The Galaxy J7 Max features a bit more powerful CPU than Samsung Galaxy S4, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processor, it also counts with 2 GB more RAM and 4 more cores. Samsung Galaxy J7 Max features better battery lifetime than Galaxy S4, because it has a 27 percent bigger battery capacity.
