Comparison review
The Xperia XZ1 has a general score of 78.3, which is slightly better than Galaxy S5 Active's general score of 75.6. The Xperia XZ1 is a newer cellphone, and it's also somewhat thinner and just a little lighter than Galaxy S5 Active. Samsung Galaxy S5 Active counts with a much better looking screen than Xperia XZ1, because although it has a bit smaller screen, and they both have an equal 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active also counts with a little higher display density.
The Xperia XZ1 features a lot bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, because it has an external SD slot that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB and more internal memory. The Sony Xperia XZ1 features a processor that is just as good as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active one, because although the Sony Xperia XZ1 has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, it also counts with a larger amount of RAM and more CPU cores.
Xperia XZ1 counts with a way better camera than Galaxy S5 Active, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Xperia XZ1 also has a higher 19 mega pixels resolution back-facing camera. The Galaxy S5 Active counts with just a little better battery duration than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 2800mAh battery capacity instead of 2700mAh.
Although Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Xperia XZ1, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, resigning some features and specs.
