Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is a bit better than Galaxy S5 Plus, getting a score of 80.9 against 78.1. Samsung Galaxy S6 Active's body is way lighter but just a little thicker than the Galaxy S5 Plus. These phones use Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has the newer 5.0 version while Galaxy S5 Plus has Android 4.4.2 version.
Galaxy S6 Active counts with a bit better CPU than Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has a faster 650 megahertz graphics processor, 4 more CPU cores (although slower), a 64-bits processing unit and more RAM. Samsung Galaxy S6 Active features a little sharper display than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, and although they both have a display with the same size, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active also has a higher 2560 x 1440 resolution and a greater screen density.
The Galaxy S5 Plus features a better storage for games and applications than Galaxy S6 Active, although it has just 16 GB internal storage. The Galaxy S5 Plus takes much better photos and videos than Galaxy S6 Active, although it has a tinier aperture which is not so good for low-light captures and video, they both have the same (4K) video definition, the same back-facing camera sensor size, a 16 mega pixels resolution back facing camera and the same video frame rates.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has improved battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has 3500mAh of battery capacity against 2800mAh.
