Comparison review
Huawei Mate X is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy S9, getting a overall score of 89.4 against 83.3. The Huawei Mate X construction is newer, but much heavier and a lot thicker than Samsung Galaxy S9. Huawei Mate X and Samsung Galaxy S9 have incredibly similar CPUs, and although the Huawei Mate X has a higher amount of RAM, they both have 8 CPU cores.
Samsung Galaxy S9 counts with a little bit better looking screen than Huawei Mate X, because although it has a little bit lower 1440 x 2960 resolution and a much smaller screen, it also counts with a greater number of pixels per inch in the display. The Huawei Mate X features a superior memory to store more games and applications than Galaxy S9, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with more internal storage.
Samsung Galaxy S9 captures much clearer photos and videos than Huawei Mate X, because although it has a lot smaller back-facing camera sensor which provides a lot lower photo and video quality and a much worse 12 mega-pixels resolution back camera, it also counts with a bigger aperture for better low-light photography.
The Huawei Mate X features a much better battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy S9, because it has a 50 percent bigger battery size.
Although Huawei Mate X is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy S9. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy S9, letting go a couple features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
