The Sony Xperia 5 II has a general score of 87.2, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy S9's 83.3 general score. The Sony Xperia 5 II is a a little thinner phone than Galaxy S9, but they weight 5.75oz. Galaxy S9 has a little bit better display than Sony Xperia 5 II, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a better 1440 x 2960 resolution and more pixels per screen inch.
Xperia 5 II has a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy S9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 5 II also has 4 GB more RAM. The Xperia 5 II features a lot bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy S9, because it has a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 1000 GB and more internal storage capacity.
Xperia 5 II has better battery life than Galaxy S9, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh. The Xperia 5 II captures slightly better videos and photos than Galaxy S9, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not good for taking photos or videos in poorly lited situations, and they both have a same resolution back facing camera and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Xperia 5 II also counts with better video frame rates and a way larger camera sensor.
Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy S9, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy S9.
