Galaxy A42 is much better than the Galaxy XCover 5, having an 87 score against 78.1. Although the Galaxy A42 and Galaxy XCover 5 were only released 4 months apart, Galaxy A42's construction is somewhat heavier but also a little bit thinner than Galaxy XCover 5. Both phones we are comparing include the same Android 11 operating system.
Samsung Galaxy A42 features just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy XCover 5. Both have the same number of cores and a 4 GB RAM. The Galaxy XCover 5 counts with a little sharper display than Galaxy A42, because although it has a bit worse 720 x 1480 resolution and a bit smaller display, it also counts with a little bit better screen density.
Samsung Galaxy A42 features a greater memory capacity to store more games and applications than Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a SD memory slot that holds 24 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB more internal storage capacity.
