Xperia 1 V is slightly better than Galaxy XCover 5, with an 82.7 score against 78.1. Xperia 1 V's body is a lot newer and just a bit thinner, but also a bit heavier than Galaxy XCover 5. Both of these phones come with Android OS, but Xperia 1 V has newer 13 version while Galaxy XCover 5 has Android 11 version, so it provides a couple nice extra features and performance tweaks.
Xperia 1 V has a better looking display than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a much greater pixels quantity per display inch, a larger display and a way higher resolution of 1644 x 3840. Galaxy XCover 5 features a very superior CPU than Xperia 1 V, although it has 8 GB lesser RAM, they both have 8 cores.
The Xperia 1 V features just a bit bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage. Sony Xperia 1 V takes much clearer videos and photos than Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for taking images and video in poorly lited environments, it also counts with a way better 3840x2160 video definition and a way more MP back camera.
The Sony Xperia 1 V features a much better battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a 5000mAh battery size.
