The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a global score of 94.6, which is better than the Galaxy S8's overall score of 81.7. Although Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is way heavier than Galaxy S8, it's somewhat thinner and also a lot newer. Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a bit superior processing unit than Samsung Galaxy S8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 also has more RAM memory.
Samsung Galaxy S8 has just a bit better looking display than Galaxy Z Fold 2, because although it has a way smaller display, it also counts with a lot higher number of pixels per display inch and a slightly higher 1440 x 2960 resolution. Galaxy Z Fold 2 counts with much more memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy S8, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 takes just a bit better videos and photos than Galaxy S8, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not nice for low light captures and video, and they both have a back facing camera with a 12 MP and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 also counts with a much larger camera sensor capturing much better quality videos and pictures and faster 60 fps video frame rates.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a superior battery duration than Galaxy S8, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Samsung Galaxy S8. If you are trying to save some money, you can get Samsung Galaxy S8, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your budget.
