Comparison review
The Xperia 5 II is better than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, getting a general score of 87.2 against 77.5. Even though Xperia 5 II is just a little thicker than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, it's lighter and newer. The Sony Xperia 5 II features a little bit better looking screen than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a little higher 1080 x 2520 resolution and a better screen pixels density.
Sony Xperia 5 II has a much bigger memory for applications and games than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal storage capacity, the Sony Xperia 5 II also has an external memory slot that allows up to 1000 GB. The Xperia 5 II has a bit faster processor than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 5 II also has a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has superior battery lifetime than Xperia 5 II, because it has a 5300mAh battery size. The Sony Xperia 5 II takes much clearer photographs and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same resolution back facing camera, the Sony Xperia 5 II also has faster video frame rate, a lot bigger camera aperture to take better photography in low light situations and a lot larger camera sensor capturing much better quality photos and videos.
Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. If you are trying to save some money, you can get the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
