Xperia 5 III is better than Motorola Edge 40, getting a general score of 90.5 against 77.2. Although it's the best cellphone we are comparing here, the Xperia 5 III design is noticeably older, just a little thicker and just a little bit heavier than Motorola Edge 40. Both phones in this comparison review have Android operating system, but Xperia 5 III has the older 11 version and Motorola Edge 40 has Android 13 version.

Motorola Edge 40 has a little bit better looking screen than Xperia 5 III, because although it has a quite lower resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a little worse pixels amount per screen inch, it also counts with a little larger screen. Xperia 5 III has a way better hardware performance than Motorola Edge 40. They have 8 GB of RAM memory and the same number of cores.

The Sony Xperia 5 III has a much greater storage capacity for apps and games than Motorola Edge 40, because it has a SD memory slot that admits up to 1 TB and 256 GB internal storage capacity. The Sony Xperia 5 III has a bit better battery lifetime than Motorola Edge 40, because it has a 2 percent greater battery size.
