Xperia 5 III is much better than Xiaomi Black Shark 2, getting a 90.5 score against 82.3. Xperia 5 III's construction is noticeably newer, lighter and just a bit thinner than the Xiaomi Black Shark 2. Both phones in this review have Android OS (operating system), but Xperia 5 III has newer 11 version while Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has Android 10.
Xperia 5 III and Xiaomi Black Shark 2 have incredibly similar displays, because although the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has a quite lower resolution of 1080 x 2340 and a bit less pixels per screen inch, it also counts with a bit bigger display. The Xiaomi Black Shark 2's processing unit is just as good as the CPU in Xperia 5 III, both have 8 CPU cores and a 8 GB RAM memory.
The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 counts with just a bit better camera than Xperia 5 III, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not so good for low-light photos and videos, a tinier back-facing camera sensor which provides a worse photo and video quality and lower 30 fps video frame rate, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 also counts with a lot better 48 MP resolution camera.
The Xperia 5 III has a lot bigger storage capacity to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Black Shark 2, because it has more internal storage capacity and a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 1 TB. Sony Xperia 5 III counts with a bit longer battery life than Xiaomi Black Shark 2, because it has a 13% bigger battery size.
