Xperia 5 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Mi 5s, having a overall score of 81 against 76.4. The Xperia 5 is a heavier cellphone than Xiaomi Mi 5s, but they are equally thin. The Xperia 5 counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has a greater number of cores and 2 GB more RAM memory.
Xiaomi Mi 5s counts with a little more vivid display than Xperia 5, although it has a little lower resolution of 1080 x 1920px, a just a bit lower number of pixels per screen inch and a quite smaller display. Xperia 5 features a much greater storage capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have equal 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Xperia 5 also has an external memory slot that holds up to 512 GB.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s counts with a bit superior battery duration than Xperia 5, because it has 3200mAh of battery capacity instead of 3140mAh. The Sony Xperia 5 has a slightly better camera than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because although it has a tinier back-facing camera sensor capturing lower quality videos and photographs, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate, a camera with a 12 mega-pixels and the same (4K) video definition, the Sony Xperia 5 also counts with a larger diafragm aperture for better low light photography.

So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xperia 5, otherwise you can save some money and get the Xiaomi Mi 5s, resigning some specs and features.
