Galaxy S4 has an overall score of 77.3, which is a lot better than Sony Xperia Ion's 61.3 global score. Galaxy S4's design is newer, just a little lighter and way thinner than Sony Xperia Ion. Both devices in this comparison review have Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy S4 has the newer 4.4.2 version while Sony Xperia Ion has Android 4.1.2, providing some extra features.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a quite better hardware performance than Xperia Ion, because it has a graphics co-processor, a higher amount of RAM memory and 2 more processing cores. Samsung Galaxy S4 counts with a bit better looking display than Xperia Ion, because it has a quite larger screen, a better pixel quantity in each screen inch and a way better 1920 x 1080 resolution.

The Galaxy S4 features a much better camera than Sony Xperia Ion, and although they both have the same (Full HD) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Galaxy S4 also has a camera in the back with a better resolution. Samsung Galaxy S4 has a much greater storage for games and applications than Sony Xperia Ion, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 64 GB and 16 GB more internal storage.
