The HTC One is a little bit better than the Xperia SL, having a 69 score against 62.8. The HTC One design is a little bit lighter and somewhat thinner than the Xperia SL. These phones use Android OS (Operating System), but HTC One has a more recent 5.0 version while Xperia SL has Android 4.0.4 version, giving a lot of extra features and increased performance.
HTC One counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Sony Xperia SL, because it has more RAM memory, a larger number of 1.7 GHz cores and a faster graphics co-processor working at 400 megahertz. HTC One features a bit sharper screen than Xperia SL, because it has a way better resolution of 1920 x 1080, a greater pixels count per inch in the display and a little bit larger display.
The Sony Xperia SL takes just a bit better pictures and videos than HTC One, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for low light photos and videos and slower video frame rates, and they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition, the Sony Xperia SL also counts with a lot more megapixels back-facing camera.
The HTC One counts with a little bit more storage to install applications and games than Sony Xperia SL, because it has 32 GB internal memory capacity. HTC One features a superior battery duration than Xperia SL.
