Comparison review
Xperia XZ1 has a global score of 78.3, which is just a bit better than Huawei P20's 78.1 general score. Even when the Xperia XZ1 and the Huawei P20 were released only 7 months apart, the Xperia XZ1 is just a bit lighter and just a little bit thinner. Xperia XZ1 has a bit more powerful processing unit than Huawei P20. They have the same number of cores and a 4 GB RAM.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 and the Huawei P20 have really similar screens, although the Huawei P20 also has a little bigger display, a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels and a little higher pixels density. The Sony Xperia XZ1 captures slightly better pictures and videos than Huawei P20, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and a 0.43 inches back-facing camera sensor, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also counts with a much more mega pixels back-facing camera.
Xperia XZ1 features a very superior storage for games and applications than Huawei P20, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB. Huawei P20 counts with improved battery performance than Sony Xperia XZ1, because it has a 26% larger battery capacity.
Although Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Huawei P20, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Huawei P20. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xperia XZ1, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Huawei P20, resigning a couple features and specifications.
