Comparison review

Xperia XZ1 has a score of 78.3, which is just a bit better than the OnePlus 8's overall score of 76. Xperia XZ1's body is a little bit thinner and somewhat lighter than the OnePlus 8, despite of the fact that it was released 3 years before. OnePlus 8 features a little sharper screen than Sony Xperia XZ1, because although it has a quite lower display density, it also counts with a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2400px and a bigger display.

The OnePlus 8 has a bit superior processor than Xperia XZ1, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the OnePlus 8 also has more RAM memory. Sony Xperia XZ1 features a much better storage capacity to install games and applications than OnePlus 8, because although it has less internal storage, it also counts with a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 1,95 TB.

OnePlus 8 features a superior battery life than Sony Xperia XZ1, because it has a 4300mAh battery size against 2700mAh. OnePlus 8 has a much better camera than Xperia XZ1, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the OnePlus 8 also has a bigger diafragm aperture to take better captures in low light environments, a lot better resolution camera in the back, a larger sensor providing a higher image quality and faster 60 frames per second video frame rate.

Although Sony Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the OnePlus 8. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy OnePlus 8, giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your savings.
