Xperia XZ1 has a global score of 78.3, which is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi 5s's global score of 76.4. Although the Xperia XZ1 is a little heavier than the Xiaomi Mi 5s, it's just a little thinner and newer. Sony Xperia XZ1 counts with a bit faster processing unit than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM memory, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also has more cpu cores.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s counts with a little bit better screen than Xperia XZ1. They have an equal resolution of 1080 x 1920px, a display with the same size and the same screen density. Xperia XZ1 captures slightly better photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the same 30 fps video frame rates, the same aperture and a same size camera sensor, the Xperia XZ1 also has a back-facing camera with a lot better resolution.
Xperia XZ1 features a very superior memory capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because although it has 0 less internal storage, it also counts with an external memory slot that supports up to 1,95 TB. Xiaomi Mi 5s features superior battery duration than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 19% larger battery capacity.
Although Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi 5s, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Mi 5s. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Xperia XZ1, otherwise you can save some money and get the Xiaomi Mi 5s, giving up some features and specs.
