The Galaxy Note9 is better than the Xperia XZ2, with an 87.1 score against 79.1. Although the Galaxy Note9 and Xperia XZ2 were released with only a couple months difference, Galaxy Note9's body is a lot thinner but also a little heavier than Xperia XZ2. The Galaxy Note9 features just a bit better performance than Xperia XZ2, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Note9 also has 2 GB more RAM memory.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 has a bit sharper screen than Galaxy Note9, although it has a way worse 1080 x 2160 resolution, a quite smaller screen and a just a bit worse display pixels density. The Galaxy Note9 has a much better storage capacity for apps and games than Xperia XZ2, because it has 64 GB more internal memory capacity and an external memory slot that supports up to 512 GB.
Xperia XZ2 has just a bit better camera than Galaxy Note9, because although it has a way smaller diafragm aperture, and they both have the same 60 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with a back camera with a much higher resolution and a bigger sensor which provides a higher image and video quality.
The Galaxy Note9 counts with longer battery lifetime than Xperia XZ2, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 3180mAh.
