Comparison review

The Xperia XZ3 is just a bit better than OnePlus 8, with a overall score of 79.6 against 76. Although it's the best in our current comparison, the Xperia XZ3 body is older, extremely thicker and a bit heavier than OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8 features a little faster processor than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have the same number of cores, the OnePlus 8 also has 4 GB more RAM.

The Sony Xperia XZ3 features just a bit better looking screen than OnePlus 8, because although it has a bit smaller screen and much darker screen, it also counts with a better 1440 x 2880px resolution and a higher pixel count per inch in the screen. Xperia XZ3 counts with a better storage for applications and games than OnePlus 8, because although it has less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that supports up to 512 GB.

OnePlus 8 has a superior camera than Xperia XZ3, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the OnePlus 8 also has a bigger back-facing camera sensor which gives a higher image and video quality, a back facing camera with a much better resolution, better 60 frames per second video frame rate and a bigger diafragm aperture.

OnePlus 8 counts with longer battery duration than Xperia XZ3, because it has 4300mAh of battery capacity.

Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as OnePlus 8. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia XZ3, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the OnePlus 8, letting go some specs and features.
