The iPhone 8 is better than the Xperia Z2a, getting an 85 score against 73. IPhone 8's body is a little lighter and thinner than Xperia Z2a. The Xperia Z2a counts with a much better display than iPhone 8, because it has a little bigger display, a better pixels density and a much better resolution of 1920 x 1080.
The iPhone 8 counts with a way bigger memory capacity for applications and games than Xperia Z2a, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory. The Apple iPhone 8 counts with a bit more powerful CPU than Sony Xperia Z2a, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processor and less RAM, it also counts with a greater number of cores and a 64-bit processor.
The Sony Xperia Z2a counts with a superior battery duration than iPhone 8, because it has a 3000mAh battery size instead of 1821mAh. IPhone 8 captures clearer pictures and videos than Sony Xperia Z2a, although it has a lot smaller camera sensor, a lower (4K) video resolution and a camera with lot less mega pixels resolution.
Although iPhone 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Sony Xperia Z2a, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Sony Xperia Z2a. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the iPhone 8, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Sony Xperia Z2a, resigning some specifications.
