The Google Pixel XL is much better than the Sony Xperia Z2a, with a score of 81.3 against 73. The Google Pixel XL is a a little bit heavier but incredibly thinner device than Sony Xperia Z2a. Xperia Z2a counts with a little more vivid display than Google Pixel XL, although it has a just a little lower display pixels density, a bit smaller display and a lot worse 1920 x 1080px resolution.
Google Pixel XL counts with a way bigger storage capacity to store more games and applications than Xperia Z2a, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 112 GB more internal storage capacity. The Xperia Z2a features a little faster processing unit than Google Pixel XL, because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia Z2a also counts with a GPU.
The Google Pixel XL has a bit better battery performance than Sony Xperia Z2a, because it has 3450mAh of battery capacity against 3000mAh. Google Pixel XL features a little bit better camera than Xperia Z2a, although it has a worse 3840x2160 video quality and a camera with lot less MP resolution, they both have a same size back-facing camera sensor.
Although Google Pixel XL is a better device, it is way more expensive than Sony Xperia Z2a, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Sony Xperia Z2a. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get the Sony Xperia Z2a, giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
