The Xiaomi Black Shark 4 has a score of 88.3, which is just a bit better than Huawei P40's 86.4 score. Although the Xiaomi Black Shark 4 is newer than Huawei P40, it is thicker and heavier. Both of these devices use Android OS, but the Xiaomi Black Shark 4 has the newer 11 version while Huawei P40 has Android 10.
Xiaomi Black Shark 4 counts with a little bit better screen than Huawei P40, because although it has a little bit less pixels per display inch, it also counts with a bit bigger screen and a little bit higher 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. Huawei P40 counts with as much memory capacity to install games and applications as the Xiaomi Black Shark 4, they have equal internal memory.
Xiaomi Black Shark 4 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Huawei P40, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xiaomi Black Shark 4 also has a greater amount of RAM. Huawei P40 captures just a bit better photographs and videos than Xiaomi Black Shark 4, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not recommended for shooting photos and video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Huawei P40 also counts with a back camera with a better 50 mega-pixels resolution and a much bigger back camera sensor which gives a way better photo and video quality.
Xiaomi Black Shark 4 features just a bit better battery lifetime than Huawei P40, because it has an 18% more battery capacity.
Although Xiaomi Black Shark 4 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Huawei P40, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Huawei P40. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Huawei P40, letting go a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
