Comparison review
The Xperia 5 has a score of 81, which is much better than the Xiaomi Mi-3's global score of 71.6. The Xperia 5 design has the same thickness than the Xiaomi Mi-3, but it's heavier. The Xiaomi Mi-3 counts with a slightly better display than Sony Xperia 5, although it has a little lower display density, a quite smaller display and a little worse 1920 x 1080px resolution.
The Xperia 5 has a superior memory capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi-3, because it has 128 GB internal storage capacity and a slot for an external memory card that supports up to 512 GB. The Xperia 5 features just a bit better performance than Xiaomi Mi-3, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, it also counts with 4 more CPU cores and a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Xperia 5 counts with a bit longer battery performance than Xiaomi Mi-3, because it has 3140mAh of battery capacity. Sony Xperia 5 counts with a little bit better camera than Xiaomi Mi-3, because although it has a lower resolution camera, it also counts with a lot higher 3840x2160 video resolution and a way bigger aperture.
Although Sony Xperia 5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xiaomi Mi-3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xiaomi Mi-3. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia 5, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Xiaomi Mi-3, resigning some specifications.
