The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi 4, getting a score of 76 against 75.2. Even though the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is somewhat heavier than the Xiaomi Mi 4, it's thinner and way newer. Both devices in this review use Android OS, but the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has 6.0 Marshmallow version while Xiaomi Mi 4 has Android 4.4.3 version, providing some additional features and performance optimizations.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 has a much better looking display than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have an equal 1920 x 1080px resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 4 also counts with a quite greater screen density. Xiaomi Mi 4 has a little bit better processing power than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Xiaomi Mi 4 also counts with an extra graphics co-processor.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 counts with a much greater memory capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 4, because it has 128 GB internal storage. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features better battery life than Xiaomi Mi 4, because it has a 32 percent larger battery size. The Xiaomi Mi 4 counts with a much better camera than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a back camera with a lot lower resolution, a smaller sensor giving a lower image quality and a lower (4K) video resolution, it also counts with a bigger diafragm aperture to take better low light photography and videos.
Although Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xiaomi Mi 4, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Mi 4. If you want to save some money, you can get Xiaomi Mi 4, letting go a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
