Comparison review
The Galaxy A8 Star is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi 5s, with an 82.1 score against 76.4. The Galaxy A8 Star construction is newer and a little thinner, but also noticeably heavier than Xiaomi Mi 5s. Both devices in this review use Android operating system, but the Galaxy A8 Star has 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Mi 5s has Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s has a little bit better looking screen than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a bit greater pixel quantity in each inch in the screen. The Galaxy A8 Star features just a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has more RAM and more processing cores.
Samsung Galaxy A8 Star shoots clearer pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because although it has a smaller camera sensor capturing worse quality videos and photographs, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also counts with a back facing camera with lot more MP and a larger aperture for better photos and videos in poorly lited situations.
Galaxy A8 Star features more memory for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because although it has only 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that holds a maximum of 400 GB. The Galaxy A8 Star has a little better battery performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has 3700mAh of battery capacity.
