Xiaomi Mi 8 is slightly better than the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, getting a global score of 83.3 against 81.9. Xiaomi Mi 8 is a way older and a little heavier cellphone than the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, but Xiaomi was able to build it just a little thinner anyway. Both phones in this review use Android operating system, but Xiaomi Mi 8 has the previous 10 version while Motorola Edge 50 Neo has Android 14 version.
Motorola Edge 50 Neo features a sharper display than Xiaomi Mi 8, because it has a little more pixels per inch in the screen, a better 1256 x 2760 resolution, a little bigger screen and way more brightness. The Xiaomi Mi 8 features a much faster CPU than Motorola Edge 50 Neo, although it has a lower amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores.
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo captures much clearer videos and photos than Xiaomi Mi 8, and although they both have a same size aperture, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and the same video frame rates, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo also has a camera in the back with a way better 50 mega pixels resolution and a way bigger camera sensor providing a way better image quality.
Motorola Edge 50 Neo has as much storage for applications, games, photos and videos as the Xiaomi Mi 8 one, both of them have the same internal storage. The Motorola Edge 50 Neo counts with superior battery lifetime than Xiaomi Mi 8, because it has 4310mAh of battery capacity.
